New Delhi: Petrol-Diesel rates climbed again on Thursday. Petrol became costlier by 35 paise in Delhi. Due to this its rates reached a record level of Rs 106.54 per liter. Diesel also became costlier by 35 paise to Rs 95.27 per liter.

Petrol Price Today:

Petrol and diesel prices were hiked by 35 paise per liter on Wednesday as well, taking the fuel prices across the country to a new high. According to the price notification of government retailers, petrol price in Delhi had touched a record high of Rs 106.19 per liter on Wednesday and Rs 112.11 per liter in Mumbai.

Delhi Petrol Rs 106.54 and Diesel Rs 95.27 per liter

Mumbai Petrol Rs 112.44 and Diesel Rs 103.26 per liter

Chennai Petrol Rs 103.61 and Diesel Rs 99.59 per liter

Kolkata Petrol Rs 107.11 and Diesel Rs 98.38 per liter


There was no change in prices for the two days before Wednesday. Whereas before that, the prices were increased every day by 35 paise per liter for four consecutive days. With this increase, petrol has now gone up to Rs 100 per liter or more in all state capitals, while diesel has touched hundreds in more than a dozen states. In Panaji and Ranchi too, diesel crossed the Rs 100 per liter mark.

The most expensive fuel is in the border town of Ganganagar, Rajasthan. This is the 18th increase in petrol prices and 21st increase in diesel prices since ending a three-week long gap in price changes in the last week of September.

Prices vary from state to state based on local taxes. International benchmark Brent crude is trading at $84.43 a barrel on Wednesday for the first time in seven years. A month ago, Brent was priced at $73.92 a barrel. Being a net importer of oil, India keeps petrol and diesel prices at par with international prices.
