Amphan cyclone: PM Modi announces relief fund of 1000 crore for West Bengal

New Delhi: The most dreadful storm of the century, Amphan, has caused devastation in West Bengal. Before this storm came 283 years ago. In such a situation, West Bengal CM Mamta Banerjee had appealed to the Prime Minister of India to visit. Meanwhile, PM Modi has arrived today to conduct an aerial survey of the areas affected by Hurricane Amfan. At present, PM Modi has reached Kolkata, after which Mamata Banerjee welcomed PM Modi.

After conducting an aerial survey of the storm affected areas, PM Modi said that when the country is suffering from Corona virus, the storm affected the eastern region.

PM Modi announced financial aid:

PM Modi said that both the state and the central government had prepared for this storm, but even after this, we have not been able to save the lives of 80 people. There has been a lot of property damage due to the storm of Amphan, in which many houses have been destroyed and the infrastructure has suffered major damage.

PM Narendra Modi has announced a financial assistance of Rs 1000 crore initially, along with compensation for the families of the deceased. PM Modi has announced a compensation of Rs 2 lakh to the families of the deceased.

The storm-hit areas are being surveyed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee, State Governor Jagdeep Dhankad and several Union ministers by air in a helicopter. PM Modi will now conduct an aerial survey of the North and South 24 Parganas, after which he will go to Basirhat where the meeting is scheduled to take place.
