A case of sexual assault has been registered against Prajwal Revanna, the sitting JDS MP and candidate from Hassan seat, grandson of former Prime Minister HD Deve Gowda. The objectionable video clip, allegedly related to Prajwal Revanna, came a day after voting for the second phase of Lok Sabha elections (April 26). On April 26, voting was also held in Hassan, the seat of Revanna. After the video surfaced, the Siddaramaiah government of Karnataka has formed a SIT to investigate the matter. The decision to form SIT came after the recommendation of the State Women Commission.

It is alleged that a video of this scandal was allegedly shot by the MP. It was widely circulated in Hassan constituency. After this, a woman filed a case against Prajwal Revanna at Holenarsipur police station on Sunday, accusing him of sexual harassment. The woman alleged that she was sexually exploited several times between 2019 and 2022.

The complainant also claimed that Prajwal Revanna abused his daughter over video call. Had 'obscene talk' with her. The complainant woman alleged that Prajwal Revanna's father HD Revanna had also sexually assaulted his wife in her absence. The woman claimed that her life and that of other members of her family were in danger.

BJP leader Devaraje Gowda was a candidate from Holenarasipura in the 2023 assembly elections. He has also claimed that in December last year, he had written a letter to the then state president BY Vijayendra and made serious allegations against Prajwal Revanna and HD Deve Gowda family.

Devaraje Gowda claimed that he had found a pen drive. There were 2976 videos of women in it. Women were being blackmailed through these video clips, so that they could be forced into sexual activity. Devaraje Gowda says, "If we form an alliance with the JDS. If we nominate a JDS candidate in Hassan for the Lok Sabha elections, these videos can be used as a Brahmastra against us. This way we It will be a big blow to our party's image at the national level that we have formed an alliance with a family whose members are accused of rape.

33 year old Prajwal Revanna has completely rejected these videos. He says that the video has been tampered with the purpose of defaming him. After the video went viral, he lodged a complaint with the police. He left for Germany on Saturday morning. Prajwal Revanna's father HD Revanna has also been accused of sexual harassment by her domestic help. HD Revanna is JDS MLA from Holenarasipur constituency.

Political turmoil has also started in Karnataka regarding the viral video of Prajwal Revanna. This dispute has also turned into a political fight between JDS-BJP. BJP has distanced itself from him amid the controversy over the alleged sex tape. BJP state spokesperson S Prakash said, "As a party, we have nothing to do with the video. Nor do we have any comment on the SIT investigation announced by the state government into the alleged sex scandal involving Prajwal Revanna."

Prajwal Revanna's uncle and JDS leader HD Kumaraswamy said that he is waiting for the completion of the investigation into the alleged scandal involving his nephew. There is no question of forgiving whoever has done this."

Another JDS leader Sharangowda Kandkur has demanded suspension of Prajwal Revanna. In a two-page letter made public on Monday morning, Kandakur told HD Deve Gowda, "JDS is embarrassed by this video. It damages the reputation of both you and your party."

Congress has targeted BJP in this matter. The party alleges that BJP helped Prajwal Revanna to flee the country amid the controversy over the alleged sex clip. Congress leaders and workers also protested in Bengaluru demanding his immediate arrest.
