The Rajasthan government has cancelled the recognition of a private school under Gegal police station of Ajmer district after it allegedly denied permission to a rape victim to appear in the exam and gave her Transfer Certificate. The victim was a student of class 12th and she was denied permission to take the exams. In this matter, Bikaner Directorate has taken major action and canceled the recognition of Senior Secondary of the private school. At the same time, students of class 11th and 12th studying in this session will be given admission in other schools.

A student studying in class 12th from Acme Academy School under Gegal police station of Ajmer was gang-raped by three people. In this case, all three accused were arrested by the police and put in jail. In such a situation, after the incident that happened with the victim student, the school administration should have sympathized and helped the student. But the school administration, adopting a careless and irresponsible attitude, canceled the student's TC from the school without informing her and even after the admit card was issued, she was not given the admit card. In such a situation, the student could not appear in the 12th class examination and one year of the student was wasted.

Child Welfare Committee Chairperson Anjali Sharma said that taking this matter seriously, the members of the Access to Justice for Children Project Department of Rajasthan Mahila Kalyan Mandal took the responsibility of providing justice to the student and filed a complaint against the principal and the school management in this case. A case has been registered in the police station. Gegal police station has registered a case under the Juvenile Justice Act and has started further action.

The education department has given orders to get the girl student admitted in an open school and take the class 12th examination. After the news broke, Director of Bikaner Secondary Education Directorate, Ashish Modi, swung into action on Friday and ordered the girl to be included in the examination while getting her admitted in the 12th open school.

It is noteworthy that on October 18, 2023, the student was gang-raped by two other people including her distant uncle. In this case, Gegal police station had arrested all three accused and sent them to judicial custody, from where one of the accused got bail. After this incident, instead of showing sympathy towards the girl student, the school administration removed her name from the school and also debarred her from class 12th board examination. In this matter, Child Welfare Committee Chairman Anjali Sharma took the matter seriously and started further action. The result of which was that today the student can give the open board exam. A case has been registered against the school management and principal in the legal police station.
