A 24-year-old Indian student was shot dead inside a car in South Vancouver, Canada. This information has been given by the local police. Vancouver police said in a statement that 24-year-old Chirag Antil was found dead inside a vehicle in the area after neighbors heard gunshots.

Police said officers were called to East 55th Avenue and Main Street around 11 p.m. on April 12 after residents reported hearing gunshots. Chirag Antil, 24, was found dead in a vehicle in the area. There is no information available at this time. "No arrests have been made and the matter is under investigation."

The union of Indian students in Canada tagged the Ministry of External Affairs in a post on Twitter and requested for assistance to the student's family. Varun wrote, "Take immediate notice of the murder of Chirag Antil, an Indian student in Vancouver, Canada. We urge the Ministry of External Affairs to closely monitor the progress of the investigation and ensure that justice is delivered swiftly."

"Additionally, we request the Ministry to provide all necessary assistance to the family of the deceased during this difficult time," he said. According to local media reports, Chirag Antil's family is raising funds through crowdfunding platform GoFundMe to bring his body back to India.

Chirag Antil's brother Romit Antil, a resident of Haryana, told CityNews that he was a kind person. Romit Antil said, "My brother and I had a very good relationship. We used to talk every day, day and night. I spoke to him for the last time before the accident. He was very happy, he never had any trouble with anyone. There was no trouble or quarrel with anyone, he was very polite.

Chirag Antil went to Vancouver in September 2022. He had recently completed his MBA from University Canada West and received his work permit.
