Five people were stabbed to death in a shopping center in Sydney, Australia on Saturday. After this the attacker was shot by the police. This has been said in the local media. Police said they had received reports that "several people" had been stabbed at a shopping center in Sydney. These heart-wrenching incidents took place at the Westfield Bondi Junction Mall complex.

According to The Sydney Morning Herald report, the Australian Federal Police in Canberra informed Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese about the incident. Police are investigating terrorist links in this incident. In a post on Twitter, Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese said, "Our thoughts go out to the families of those who lost their lives in this attack. We also salute the bravery of the police."

New South Wales Ambulance said that police shot and killed a man. It is believed that he was one of the attackers. However, the motive behind the stabbing was not immediately clear. An eyewitness said that there was chaos in the mall after the stabbing incident. People present in the mall were running towards safe places. The police was trying to secure the area. Many people took shelter in a supermarket, where they hid for about an hour. The entire area echoed with the sound of police sirens and helicopters.
